Kenton Paulino Lights It Up

BEVERLY, MASSACHUSETTS -- Maine Central Institute head coach Karl Henrickson has always spoken highly of Kenton Paulino, a 6-2 lead guard from Los Angeles, California. So it was no surprise to him that Paulino torched St. Thomas More for 28 points last night in a quarterfinal NEPSAC tournament game.
Paulino, who signed a letter of intent to play at Texas next season, hit for five three-pointers against a skilled St. Thomas More backcourt. Unfortunately for Paulino, he didn't have much help offensively and his team was blasted out of the gym early in the first half.

But Paulino gave a good effort on both ends and didn't quit despite the huge gap in the score. Pauline showed good shot selection too. He rarely forced an offensive move or took a bad shot.
"He's a very talented player," Henrickson said. "He will do a great job at Texas. He can score and find the open man. He will do well in the Big 12."
Paulino had many offers in the Fall, including free rides from Seton Hall and Providence. Last night, Paulino proved he can play high division one basketball.
