Kennedy weighing his options

Kansas State hosted a legion of prospects over the weekend. Besides nurturing the relationship with the No. 1 ranked prospect in the Rivals150 Michael Beasley, who is already committed to the Wildcats, the Kansas State staff was also focused on securing commitments from Schenley (Pittsburgh, Pa.) High School teammates D.J. Kennedy and Dejuan Blair.
Rivals.com caught up with Kennedy, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound shooting guard, after he returned to Pittsburgh from his stay in Manhattan, Kan.

"The trip went alright," said Kennedy. "The fans were the best part. It's a small campus, and everyone seemed very focused. Coach Huggins was also impressive, and I was impressed with the president of the school."
Kennedy noted that he is still open in his recruitment.
"I'm just checking out my options right now," he said. "I'm also interested in Florida and Wake Forest. I want to set up visits to both those schools."
Although a high school and AAU teammate with Blair, it remains to be seen if the two will stay together in college. Kennedy said that they would love to play together, but in the end, they will both have to do what is best for themselves.
Used to more of an urban environment, Kennedy's one reservation with Kansas State is its rural location.
"It is out in the country, but it was better than I thought it would be," he said. "Like I said, I just need to weigh my options."
