Kendrick excited about visit

Elite perimeter prospect Jelan Kendrick has maintained his poker face throughout his recruitment, but he can't hold back his excitement about his upcoming visit.
The 6-foot-6, 186-pound small forward from Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler High School is going to get his second taste of Alabama football when he officially visits the school this weekend for the showdown with LSU.

"They have a great basketball program, but you can't beat Alabama football," said Kendrick. "I'm really excited about watching that football game this weekend. It should be a great visit. The environment is going to be crazy. I'm really excited about this weekend."
Kendrick unofficially visited Alabama earlier in the fall for a football game and has also unofficially been on the Memphis campus.
Indiana received an official visit last weekend, and Kendrick officially visited Georgetown the weekend before.
These four schools appear to be the frontrunners in Kendrick's recruitment, which will likely drag out well into the basketball season.
As of now, Kendrick does plan to use his other two official visits but doesn't know when.
"I haven't scheduled anything for my last two visits," he said. "I'm going to wait till the high school season starts before I worry about them."
Kendrick is the No. 8 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
Jelan Kendrick scouting report:
A three position perimeter player with length, Kendrick has a surprising burst of athleticism. Whether it is off his first step or off a hesitation dribble, he can get to the basket with the best of them, especially going right. His extension at the rim and array of floating shots allow him to finish over bigger defenders. Also a high level passer and adequate shooter, Kendrick does need to improve his strength, but often his length makes up for any deficiency in strength.
