Kemp to SEC again

Former Alabama signee Shawn Kemp, who is spending this year at Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy, has once again signed to play in the SEC.
This second time around it came down to Auburn and Georgia, with Auburn winning the fight for the 6-foot-9, 235-pound center.

"He enjoyed the players and coaches at Auburn," said Hargrave Military Academy head coach Kevin Keatts. "It came down to Georgia and Auburn, who both did a great job recruiting him. The deciding factor was that the opportunity to play right away is better at Auburn."
Kemp, who was ranked No. 105 in his original class of 2009, has always had the potential to be an impact player. This fall he has shown signs of beginning to realize this potential.
"He's turning the corner," said Keatts. "He is beginning to realize how hard you have to play every time out."
Kemp joins Jalen Steele, Anthony Salter, Heath Houston and Adrian Forbes in Auburn's 2010 recruiting class.
