Kelly to the ACC

One of the more meticulous recruitments came to a close Thursday night when five-star prospect Ryan Kelly announced where he will attend school.
Duke is the winner over Georgetown, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

"With strong confidence, I look forward to playing at Duke University next year," Kelly said in a televised broadcast of his announcement. "I've taken a lot of time and I've looked at all of those schools throughly, much more throughly than most people do. Really, it all came down to a gut feeling. Everything about it (Duke) was the best fit for me. I just can't wait to get there."
The 6-foot-9, 205-pound power forward out of Raleigh (N.C.) Ravenscroft School joins four-star big man Mason Plumlee in the Blue Devils 2009 recruiting class.
Kelly, who is the No. 20 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, made a formidable tandem with No. 1 ranked point guard and overall prospect John Wall on the summer circuit.
During his junior high school season, Kelly averaged 24 points, nine rebounds and four blocks per game.
Ryan Kelly scouting report:
An extremely skilled face up four man, Kelly does his best work in the high post area. Defenders have to respect his ability to knock down three while Kelly also has the ability to beat defenders off the bounce with his pull up jumper in the midrange being his most dangerous weapon. He is also an adept passer and can score in the low post. Defensively Kelly moves his feet well, but he does need to add strength to become a better low post defender and rebounder.
