Kelly Orchard Sets Up In Home Visits

Kelly Orchard, a developing 6-9, 215 pound power forward/center from Bountiful H.S. in Bountiful, Ut., is starting to set up some in-home visits, according to his dad Terry.
Mr. Orchard told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that Kelly has a home visit with UC-Santa Barbara on Sept 20th, and will follow up later with a campus trip.

In addition, Orchard has discussed having in-home visits with both Utah State and Colorado State. Mr. Orchard said that the family was in the process of setting up the dates for those presentations.
In addition to the three schools above, Oregon, Tulsa, and UC-Irvine are still showing interest, Mr. Orchard said.
"Kelly he had a great experience playing with the Oakland Slam n Jam this summer," Mr. Orchard said.
Orchard did indeed play with the Slam N Jam at the adidas Big Time Tournament in July. He also attended the NBA Players Association Camp in Washington in late June and the adidas ABCD Camp in early July, but an injury curtailed his play at both of those events.
Orchard actually kicked off the summer at the USA Basketball Youth Development Festival, where he was a member of the West squad.
This past season at Bountiful, Orchard averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game. He said he carries a 3.6 GPA in the classroom and has scored an 18 on the ACT.
A player who is still rough around the edges offensively, Orchard's upside is considerable if he continues to work hard and improve. Although he is a bit mechanical in some regards, Orchard moves well north to south and is willing to mix it up in the paint -- good attributes for an inside player.
The Insiders Report will keep you posted on Kelly's recruitment in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to this site for more information about him.
