Although he had given an oral commitment to Oklahoma earlier this fall, high scoring swingman Kelenna Azubuike will not sign a letter of intent this fall, according to his father.
The Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com spoke with Kenneth Azubuike on Tuesday evening. He said that while Oklahoma remains a possible spring option for his son, nothing will occur over the next week as the NCAA early signing period runs its course from Nov. 14-21.

In an interview yesterday that appeared on this site, a former summer teammate of Azubuike stated that Kelenna might sign with Tulsa.
"He is not going to sign with anybody tomorrow," Mr. Azubuike said. "TU has never been in the picture and we have not even had a recruiting contact with them. I don't even know how people are raising those rumors."
Azubuike caused quite a stir before the summer when he switched travel teams and openly discussed jumping to the NBA. A well built and athletic 6-6, 206 pound swingman who attends Victory Christian H.S. in Tulsa, Okla., Azubuike played with the Prep Stars International squad at the adidas Big Time Tournament.
Last summer, he played with an Oklahoma based squad called Athletes First.
Azubuike enjoyed a productive summer, but there are doubts if he can make the leap from high school to the pro ranks. He is a terrific slasher who can get to the basket (and finish) seemingly at will, although his perimeter shot (especially three pointer) tends to be streaky.
Following the summer, he took an official visit to Oklahoma in September and committed to the Sooner program shortly thereafter.
"Other than the statement that Kelenna made earlier on about a verbal commitment to OU, he has not made any other statement since then, and he's not planning to make any other statement soon," Mr. Azubuike stated. "We have discussed with Oklahoma and explained to them that he is not going to be involved in the early signing period, and that's our prerogative."
Azubuike averaged a gaudy 37.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as a junior at Victory Christian H.S. In a recent preseason scrimmage, Mr. Azubuike said his son scored a whopping 65 points.
"He is concentrating right now on the upcoming season," Mr. Azubuike said. "When it comes time for the late signing period, he will make up his mind on what he needs to do at that time."
Mr. Azubuike stated that Oklahoma plans to remain involved in his son's recruiting process, despite the fact that Kelenna will not make any concrete plans about his future until the spring.
"There are so many colleges that are still calling and showing interest," Mr. Azubuike said. "But the way it works with the situation right now is that it's not being discussed and is not our focus. There are so many rumors going around, but this family is not into rumors. There is no merit to any of the rumors that are out there."
One issue that is not a rumor are Kelenna's future aspirations, Mr. Azubuike said.
"[The NBA] is still a very strong option," he said. "OU knows that is Kelenna's number one option. Kelvin Sampson knows that very clearly. His second option is to go to college."
"He is concentrating on having a great season," Mr. Azubuike continued. "He thinks that all of this discussion is irrelevant if he does not have a great season. If he has a good season, then the decision is HIS to make."
Rivalshoops.com will keep you abreast of Azubuike this season, and should anything new emerge regarding his future plans, we will let you know.
The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame have inquired regarding the status of Azubuike.
