Kegler closing in on decision

THE RIVALS150: 2016 | 2017
One of the top remaining prospects in the class of 2016 is 6-foot-7 four-star wing Mario Kegler. A Mississippi native who attends Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill, Kegler ranks No. 29 overall in the Rivals150 and is on the cusp on five-star status.

After last weekend's visit to Indiana, Kegler has now taken all five of his official visits, having seen Arizona State, Baylor, Maryland and Mississippi State in addition to the Hoosiers.
WHAT'S NEXT?: Though he hasn't said that he will for sure sign during the early signing period, all signs are pointed towards Kegler making an early decision. At a minimum, he will at least cut his list down to a final three in the very near future. His summer coach and guardian Omhar Carter of MBA Hoops said he and Kegler would spend the next week or so discussing his next move.
IN THE WORDS OF HIS COACH: "He just finished with Indiana. Indiana is Indiana basketball. It's years of culture, years of tradition. Their fans were great. Almost every fan knew who he was and that was crazy.
"We are trying to narrow it down to three. We want him to decide early but I don't know if that's going to happen. He's become a student of the game. He's learning to watch what guys teams are recruiting and whose going to be there. He's just now understanding not to look at who is there this year, but who will be there next year."
RIVALS REACTION: Because of his size and ability to score inside or out, Kegler looks like a ready-made scorer for any of the programs he has visited. Mississippi State has been hot on the recruiting trail, is the home school and just picked up a commitment from a teammate and friend, four-star PG Tyson Carter. In our estimation, the Bulldogs have to be considered the team to beat. Baylor looks to be on the outside looking in while ASU, IU and Maryland are all right there.
