Keeping An Eye On Khaliq Gant

Khaliq Gant, a 6-2, 175-pound guard Tabor Academy, Marion, Massachusetts, had a solid sophomore season for head coach David First. Gant showed some moments this year that he will be a player to watch in the 2004 class.
Gant has nice range on his jumper and moves well laterally. In a game at the Slam Dunk to the Beach, Gant stole the spotlight in a 78-57 victory over Stroud H.S. of Oklahoma. He led Tabor with 20 points thanks to six of nine shooting from beyond the three point arc.

As Gant makes his way into his junior year next season, it's likely he will be counted on more to score from the backcourt with Torin Francis going off to Notre Dame.
There are many high division one programs monitoring Gant's progress at Tabor Academy. Gant has early interest in Duke, Florida, Notre Dame, Arizona, Kentucky, Syracuse, Villanova, Virgina Tech, North Carolina, and Georgia Tech. He is still wide open.
Russ Blake has a story up on Tabor's last game on this site. It's located in Insiders Report category on rivalshoops.com
