Kee names three favorites

Three-star 2007 prospect Martavis Kee found his stride last spring playing with the 17-under Team Florida AAU squad. He has continued to progress while taking over the point guard position for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and has been rewarded with an invitation to the Nike All American Camp.
"Martavis is playing very well for us," said St. Thomas Aquinas head coach Steve Strand. "He's taken over the point guard position and is averaging 23 points and 5 assists. He really upped his play this spring and summer with Team Florida. He can play either guard position, but he is really good with the ball in his hands."

Kee, 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, has already taken unofficial visits to Michigan State, Wake Forest, South Florida, Florida, Miami and Virginia Tech. Another visit to Virginia Tech is scheduled for the Virginia Tech vs. Virginia game in a week and a half. With so many unofficial visits under his belt, there is a strong possibility that Kee will commit before using his official visits.
"I don't have a plan for when I will commit, but if I feel comfortable with a school, I will make an early decision," said Kee. "It is really important to me that I am comfortable with the coaching staff. I don't want to find myself in a position where I am not getting along with the coach and that is affecting my playing time."
As to his schools of interest, Kee named Virginia Tech (offer), Michigan State, Illinois, Miami, Clemson (offer), Wake Forest, Louisville and Michigan. Three of these schools, however, stand above the rest.
"My top three schools are Virginia Tech, Michigan State and Illinois," he said. "I have strong relationships with the Virginia Tech staff and the Michigan State staff. The point guard commitment that Michigan State just got isn't really a factor because they have been recruiting me as a combo guard."
So far this season, head coaches from Virginia Tech, Clemson and Miami and assistant coaches from Michigan State and Illinois have evaluated Kee.
St. Thomas Aquinas presently stands at 8-3.
