Kaun Schedules Final Official Visit

Alexander "Sasha" Kaun has scheduled his third and final visit of the year. The 6-foot-11, 245-pound center from Florida Air Academy in Melbourne, FL., will spend the first two weeks of September taking official visits to Kansas and Michigan State. Once Kaun returns from those trips, he will have a week off before spending the weekend with Coach. K and the Duke Blue Devils.
“Yes, Alexander has scheduled his final official visit of the year,” Florida Air Academy Head Coach Aubin Goporo said. “Duke has decided they will bring him in for a visit during the weekend of September 26. I’m so glad that these visits have been set, as this has been a hectic period for all of us.

“No in-home visits have been scheduled yet, but each school is in the process of doing that,” he added. “I really don’t know what school will visit first and what school will visit last, but each of the final three schools will make a trip to Florida.”
Kaun spent a great deal of time nursing an injury this summer, so many coaches didn’t get a good look at him, but that didn’t stop many of the nations most prestigious coaches showing a great deal of interest in the talented big man.
“Alexander went to the doctor while I was out of town and was told that he didn’t need his crutches,” Goporo said. “I was a little surprised that the doctor didn’t get an x-ray of the injury. Alexander is still walk a little funny, which was a bit of a concern, but we spent a little time with the team trainer.
“The trainer said that this was normal and Alexander would be just fine,” he added. “He’s been putting a baseball under his foot and rolling it up and down on the floor. Alexander will be just fine.”
Rivals.com ranks Kaun No. 27 on the Rivals150 list and the fifth best center in the class of 2004.
