Kately Still Working on Academics

Marquis Kately, a powerful 6-5, 210 pound athlete from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Me., is still working on getting his academic credentials up to par with NCAA standards.
At the recent Pride's Corner/St. Thomas More Invitational Basketball Tournament in Connecticut, Kately showed that he is still a breathtaking athlete who needs to continue honing his ball handling skills and outside shot. But there may not be a more ferocious dunker in the country relative to his size.

MCI Head Coach Ed Jones told Rivalshoops.com that the California-bound Kately is working on both his core grade and test score requirements this winter so that he can enroll and be eligible immediately at Cal next fall.
Kately committed and signed with the Bears last spring after listening to a serious overture from the University of Utah. He again signed with the Bears in November, and will have several more chances this winter and spring to earn a qualifying test score.
Rivalshoops.com plans on catching MCI again at this weekend's National Prep School Invitational in Kingston, R.I., so we'll keep you posted on Kately and other top players at this event.
