Kaplan To Take ACC Trip

Sam Kaplan, a 6-6, 220 pound power/combination forward from Worcester Academy in Worcester, Mass., finished up an official visit to Holy Cross, according to his coach, Mo Cassara. "All reports are it went very well," Cassara told us.
Kaplan has more visits planned. He will next take a trip to Clemson. "Larry Shyatt (Clemson head basketball coach) loves him," Cassara said.

But there are others that love Kaplan too, according to Cassara. William and Mary. Penn, Princeton, Brown, Davidson, Fairfield, Maine, Western Kentucky and others are trying to get the last couple
visits. There have been some Big East schools that have asked Kaplan to wait until the Spring. But Kaplan is leaning toward making a Fall decision.
Kaplan has taken unofficial trips to Holy Cross, William & Mary, Princeton and Yale.
A reasonably athletic power forward with face up ability, Kaplan averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block for Mo Cassara's Hilltoppers program.
Kaplan was a very valuable player on Worcester's team that fell just short of winning the NEPSAC Class A title this past season. A solid student who holds a 3.2 GPA and has scored an 1150 on the SAT, Kaplan has the best of both worlds.
Kaplan is recovering from a minor knee problem(particial torn Miniscus). But he is a few weeks from running full court.
"Sam Kaplan is one of the more underrated players in the country," Cassara said. "He is a total warrior and a team player."
Sam is the first player in the history of Worcester Academy to letter as a freshman -- in a league that has mostly 5th year players.
