Kaplan Chooses A School

Sam Kaplan, a 6-6, 220 pound power/combination forward from Worcester Academy in Worcester, Mass., committed to Yale, a terrific pickup for the Ivy League school.
Kaplan had also taken an official visit to Holy Cross. Kaplan will not take a trip to Clemson. He also considered William and Mary, Penn, Princeton, Brown, Davidson, Fairfield, Maine, Western Kentucky and others.

A reasonably athletic power forward with face up ability, Kaplan averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block for Mo Cassara's Hilltoppers program.
Kaplan was a very valuable player on Worcester's team that fell just short of winning the NEPSAC Class A title this past season. A solid student who holds a 3.2 GPA and has scored an 1150 on the SAT, Kaplan has the best of both worlds.
Kaplan is recovering from a minor knee problem(particial torn Miniscus). But he is a few weeks from running full court.
"Sam Kaplan is one of the more underrated players in the country," Cassara said. "He is a total warrior and a team player."
Sam is the first player in the history of Worcester Academy to letter as a freshman -- in a league that has mostly 5th year players.
