Kansas product ready for in-Holmes

The coaches at Denver Holmes's house are in for a good workout next week. Coaches from a number of quality mid-majors are finding their way to his Olathe, Kansas home for in-home visits. The 6-foot-4 guard from Olathe South High School is hoping to gather information on each of his suitors in the process.
Holmes said he will host Evansville on Sept. 10. The next day Arkansas State makes its pitch. St. Louis is coming in on Sept. 16. Florida Atlantic and UMKC are also coming for in-home visits. Holmes said he is already formulating an idea of questions he'll be asking.

"I've been talking with my AAU coach, LJ Goolsby, and he told me to ask as many questions as possible just so I can get a feel for the coaches and their style and personality. I'm trying to find the right fit and right decision. These are going to help a lot."
Is there a favorite going into the in-home visits?
"I've been thinking about it a little bit. If St. Louis were to go ahead and offer, I think that would be a good fit for me. I'd probably jump on it. But I'm totally up in the air right now," Holmes said.
The three-star prospect said he is intrigued by the new style of play at UMKC, where Matt Brown, a former John Beilein assistant coach, is now the head coach.
"He said they are going to run the West Virginia offense, that drive and kick style of offense. I think that fits my style. I like to get up and down," Holmes said.
Other than style of play, Holmes said he hopes to cover all of the bases with the coaches that are recruiting him.
"My mom would want me to say the education of the school (is the most important)," Holmes said. "The style of play is a big one. What their lineup is going to be. Who do they have coming in and who are their seniors and juniors when I'm there? I'm going to ask a lot of questions."
He said he is holding offers from UMKC, Arkansas State, Evansville and Florida Atlantic. Official visits will come after the in-home visits.
