Kansas lands third in 2012

A week ago, Kansas wouldn't have seemed like a very likely destination for Landen Lucas.
Funny how much can change in a week.

Early last week, the Jayhawks reached out to the 6-foot-9 center from Portland (Ore.) Westview about the possibility of making a visit.
The three-star Oregonian had been close to making a decision between Stanford, California, Tennessee and Washington where he'd already taken official visits.
But, the big man agreed to delay his decision long enough to visit Lawrence from Thursday-Saturday and by Sunday evening he confirmed on his twitter account that he was committing to Kansas.
A solid positional rebounder with good size and excellent hands, Lucas has a Big 12 type body and will benefit on the offensive end from learning from Kansas big man coach Danny Manning.
Lucas joins a recruiting class that already includes five-star Perry Ellis and ranked three-star Zach Peters.
