Kamp names a favorite

With a highly refined skill set for a class of 2007 post player, Harper Kamp already has several high major offers on the table. Although they have not yet offer the 6-foot-8, 250-pound power forward from Mountain View High School in Mesa, Ariz., Arizona is Kamp's favorite.
"I'm interested in UCLA, Stanford, Arizona, Washington, Washington State, Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois and Arizona State among others," said Kamp. "Washington State, Iowa, Northwestern and Arizona State have offered, and I'm hearing from the others."

Although he says he is still wide open in his recruiting process, Kamp noted why Arizona is at the top of his list.
"I have had very good conversations with the coaches and really like them," he said. "I also had a great time at their elite camp. It was a very good experience. I'm impressed with the way they run their program and the way they play."
A 4.0 student, Kamp will take a good look at the academic side of things before choosing a school.
"Education will definitely be very important," he said. "I haven't decided yet what I want to major in, but when I do, I will look closely at the schools to see if they have what I need. Also, I'm a people person, so I want to get along with the players and coaches in the program."
Kamp averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
Harper Kamp scouting report:
Limited athletically, Kamp relies on a heady and skilled approach to the game. Very good at using his body to get position, Kamp can score the ball with either hand around the basket. He also has a nice touch on his midrange jumper and passes the ball well out of the high post.
