Justin Marshall Decides

Rivalshoops.com has confirmed that Justin Marshall, a 6'7'' 205 pound combo forward from Christ The King High School in Middle Village, New York, has verbally committed to Iona.
Marshall chose the MAAC program over offers from St. Peter's and Boston University, and interest from Rhode Island. He had previously taken official visits to St. Peter's and Iona.

Marshall is an excellent pick-up for Iona. He is a long, athletic forward with considerable upside. Justin is a very capable mid-range shooter who can knock down shots from the perimeter, as well. Marshall is quick off his feet and an able shot blocker. He runs the floor well and is comfortable in an up-tempo setting.
Marshall will need to beef up for play in the MAAC. He possesses more of a finesse game, as opposed to a lunch-pail type of repertoire on the interior. The spindly Marshall will probably see time at the four and three slots for Iona. His inside-outside skills and athleticism should make him a valuable member of Jeff Ruland's program for years to come, a player who could emerge as a standout in that league.
Iona continues to raid the New York City Catholic League for recruits. This year's class consists of four freshmen from the CHSAA, while for 2003 they have already secured commitments from Marshall and St. Raymond's swingman Tariq Atkins
Don't be surprised if Marshall waits until the spring to actually ink his letter of intent.
Marshall competed this summer with The New York Ravens at The Las Vegas Big Time Tournament, helping them to the tourney title. He also attended the Five Star Camp. Marshall is a member of Artie Cox's Sonday Express AAU program.
Justin carries an 83 average in the class room. He has already scored 850 on the SAT.
