Justin Ahrens sets official visits to Big Ten rivals

Justin Ahrens, one of the top shooters available in the 2018 class, took a step toward his college commitment earlier this week. Narrowing his school to a group of six, the Rivals150 wing will play his college ball at Ohio State, Purdue, Xavier, Michigan, Dayton or Vanderbilt.

Originally committed to Ohio State, Ahrens backed off of his initial pledge in June after the coaching change in Columbus. However, the Buckeyes have remained in the hunt and they are one of the likeliest of landing spots.

Running with the C2K Elite unit on the Under Armour circuit this summer, the 6-foot-5 wing averaged more than 13 points and three rebounds per contest. The younger brother of Michigan State junior Kyle Ahrens, the Ohio native has set three visits:

· Xavier: Aug. 22 (unofficial)

· Michigan: Sept. 9 (official)

· Ohio State: Sept. 23 (official)

With two official visits set before October, a commitment is likely this fall which will lead to a signing in November.
