Junior PG Makes Decision

Jones, who played with the Houston Westside All-Stars last spring and summer, attended the specialty skills camp at Colorado State last summer. Rams Asst. Coach Buzz Williams, who has done an excellent job of recruiting the Lone Star State, was instrumental in Colorado State's recruitment of Jones.
One of CSU's top freshmen this year, swingman Michael Morris, also attended Cinco Ranch H.S.
"CSU is one of the best colleges in the country, and the basketball program is definitely on the rise," Charlie III said. "I feel by the time I am there, it will be one of the best men’s basketball programs in the country. I attended their specialty camp last summer, and I really enjoyed my experience."
"He and I both felt comfortable with Colorado State," Charlie Jones, Jr., said.
Mr. Jones said that Rice, Wichita State and Texas A&M were other programs who had expressed interest in his son over the past year.
Jones has helped Cinco Ranch to back to back district titles, and a gaudy 29-5 record this season. He averages four points, eight assists, two steals and four rebounds per contest.
The elder Jones coaches his son with the Westside All-Stars during the off-season, and offered his thoughts on his son's strengths on the hardwood.
"He is a much better playmaker and defender than scorer," Mr. Jones said. "He just loves to pass the ball. His philosophy is that it doesn’t matter who scores the points, it’s who can get the ball to the scorers. His only concern is doing whatever it takes to win."
