Julian Sensley Story Becomes Wheres Waldo

Well, it looks like Julian Sensley is on the move again.
Andy Katz of ESPN reported yesterday that Sensley is now enrolled at Fresno State though apparently he hasn't withdrawn from Iona. Iona Head Coach Jeff Ruland told Katz that Sensley pulled an "Irsay." The late Balitmore Colts owner, in a midnight move (literally), pulled his team out of Balitmore as the trucks headed on I-70 for Indianapolis.

Sensley, a 6-9, 230-pound power forward from Kailua, Hawaii and one of the top players from last year's senior class, originally committed to California while he was a junior at St. Thomas More Academy in Connecticut. He signed a National Letter of Intent with the Pac-10 school during the fall 2000 signing period.
But because he didn't meet the NCAA academic qualiification rules and Cal doesn't acccept partial qualifiers, he enrolled at Diablo Valley College as a part-time student and practiced with the DVC team while he tried to raise his standard test score.
Then in December, he surprised the folks at Cal when he headed east and enrolled at Iona where he could re-join his St. Thomas More teammate, Solomon Brown. In December he was able to take an untimed exam, his attempt to get his learning disability certified finally was successful. However the results didn't meet the NCAA requirements, though now that his learning disability has been established, an appeal may just be successful, it that option is re-tried.
According to Katz, the last possible day to enroll at Jerry Tarkanian's school was yesterday and Sensley met that date. In announcing this bombshell, Katz added:
Fresno-based summer rep Darren Matsubara got him to Fresno State and might position him to go to the NBA. The plan is have him test the draft process and if he stays he might not be eligible until the fall of 2003, depending on whether or not this semester counts toward sitting out two semesters.I have no idea how that last sentence could be correct. But since the rules of the NCAA are lined with strange detours....
Our advice -- stay tuned, this story is more than likely to take some more twists.
