JUCO Shooter Selects School

One of the better shooters in the JUCO ranks made a decision this past weekend. Demarcquez Rembert, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard/small forward from Collin County Junior College in Plano, Texas, selected Hartford.
"It was either going to be Hartford or waiting until the spring," said Rembert, who averaged eight points a game in a balanced attack for Collin County. "But I really like the coaching staff. They have a winning program there. I think the staff there has the program going in a winning direction and I want to be part of that success."

Rembert, who also had Prairie View and Sam Houston State recruiting him early in the recruiting process, has three-point range in his perimeter game. "That's what I do best right now," Rembert said. "But the coach (Larry Harrison) worked under Bob Huggins. And you have to play tough defense at Hartford. So I am going to work on my defense this season before I play for Hartford next year."
Rembert has the offensive skills to be an impact player for Hartford. He had a game high of 25 points last season. Rembert played very well down the stretch for Collin County, seeing most of his action and scoring most of his points the last 10-12 games of the year.
