JUCO Big Man Has High Interest

Leonard Harden, a 6-10, 240 pound freshman center from Garden City C.C. in Garden City, Kan., has a number of high major programs courting him this spring.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Harden averaged 10.4 points and seven rebounds per contest in 2001-2002 for the Broncbusters.

JUCO Junction Rivalshoops.com caught up with Garden City Head Coach Earl Diddle this week, and he gave us an updated look at Harden's recruitment.
Diddle said that Illinois, Texas A&M, Kansas State, South Florida, Texas Tech and UNLV are among the programs who visited the school this spring or who have contacted him regarding Harden.
Despite taking over the reins of the Garden City program this spring, Diddle expects to have Harden back in the fold next fall at the Jayhawk West Conference stalwart.
Diddle replaced Jeremy Cox in March after Cox compiled a 93-37 ledger at the school in four years.
Out of high school, Harden signed with Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. After failing to qualify academically, he enrolled at Garden City in the fall of 2001. He played last summer in Las Vegas at the adidas Big Time Tournament with Team Detroit.
We will keep you posted on Harden and his recruitment in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
