Joyner lands on his feet with WAC school

What is Arkansas's loss, is New Mexico State's gain. Former Hog signee Terrance Joyner is now taking his game to WAC.
The California native was denied admission to Arkansas by the NCAA Clearinghouse, he said, because of a hold up with his transcripts from Genesis One (Miss.). Joyner and Arkansas amicably split ways. Joyner said he was to ready to end his recruitment before it heated up too much.

"They've got a nice program there," Joyner said of New Mexico State. "Coach (Marvin) Menzies is a good guy and he said I have a chance to play right away. I like the players there and they made me feel comfortable when I was there. Everything is pretty cool there."
Joyner said he considered New Mexico State prior to his original commitment to Arkansas and was excited to hear that the Aggies were interested in him for the 2008 recruiting class. He added next year's team is a group that can contend for a WAC title and a NCAA run.
"It's real exciting to be the point guard for them and for that team," Joyner said. "They will be pretty good next year and it looks like Herb Pope will be there. I think we'll be really good. I like my chances there as a freshman."
The 6-foot-2 point guard joins rising big man Chris Gabriel and guard Faisal Aden in the 2008 recruiting class for New Mexico State. Joyner said he is still working on his academic situation.
"I'm still waiting to get cleared by the NCAA," Joyner said. "I should find out in the next month or so."
