Josh Boone Has Plenty Of Interest

Josh Boone, a mobile 6-8, 205 pound power forward from South Carroll H.S. in Sikesville, Md., has a number of Division I programs interested in him this summer.
Speaking from the Sonny Hill Tournament this past weekend, Boone said he has been offered scholarships by Dayton, LaSalle, St. Joe's, Rutgers, James Madison, Holy Cross and Marist. In addition, academic heavyweights Brown and Yale (which don't offer athletic scholarships as Ivy League members) are also interested in Boone.

George Mason has also expressed interest, but according to Boone, they have yet to offer a scholarship.
Boone is a fine run/jump athlete who must continue to get stronger and play more consistently aggressive on the defensive end, but his potential is evident as his body has yet to mature and fill out.
Last season at South Carroll, Boone averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks per game. He said he has a 3.6 GPA and scored 1150 on the SAT, so it's obvious why so many academic heavyweights are interested in Boone.
Boone kicked off the summer at the first session of the Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic in Trenton, N.J., and also attended Five-Star Pitt III in Pennsylvania in July. He attended both the 16 and 17 and under AAU Nationals with Cecil Kirk as well.
