Josh Barsh Makes Decision

Josh Barsh, a 6-3, 200 pound swingman from Tacoma C.C. in Tacoma, Wash., has committed to Montana State.
Barsh averaged 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a freshman for TCC, which finished among the top programs in the NWAAC Conference a year ago. More importantly, he shot 45 percent from beyond the arc as a freshman, and turned in some fine performances this summer at the Diablo Valley Jamboree in California.

Barsh visited Montana State from Sept. 21-23.
"He just really loved their coaches and players on his visit," said TCC Head Coach Carl Howell. "He just felt very comfortable with their players. His comment to me was that they have some really cool guys there, coach."
Barsh redshirted the 1999-2000 campaign at Tacoma before suiting up for the Titans as a freshman in 2000-2001. Howell said that due to his team's balance last season, Barsh posted what might appear to be pedestrian stats.
However, Howell expects Barsh to step up his production quite a bit as a sophomore, as TCC has lost some key players to graduation.
"Josh brings toughness and athleticism to the wing slot," explained Coach Howell. "He can guard three positions on the perimeter, and is a 45 percent three point shooter. So he can knock that down. But above all, he will bring toughness -- he's a tough guy."
On top of that, Barsh comes from a program that knows what it takes to win. Over the past two years, Coach Howell's teams have gone a tidy 58-9.
Barsh plans to sign early with Montana State.
