Joseph a Player to Watch in 2004

When Adrian Joseph arrived at Bergen Catholic last fall, the graceful 6-7 combo forward from Trinidad wasn't eligible to play immediately for the Crusaders.
But when was eligible in late January and got into the flow of the Bergen Catholic scheme, he became a major factor in the Crusaders' run to the state final four.

Joseph was very productive in last Saturday's loss to Paterson Catholic at the Hoop Group Tip-Off Classic at Ramapo College in New Jersey. He registered 18 points in the contest, and was an active presence on both the offensive and defensive glass.
A southpaw who puts the ball on the deck adequately for his size, Joseph is exceptionally quick in reacting to the basketball, which accounts for his rebounding and shot blocking acumen. He also has a nice stroke from the free throw line and legitimate midrange face-up game.
You would think all of this would have the college recruiters drooling, but Joseph is just a junior academically at B.C. However, he is a senior in terms of basketball eligibility.
As a result, Bergen Catholic Head Coach Joe Dionisio told Rivalshoops.com that the wiry Joseph will need to find a new home at a prep school next fall.
While he's received some initial feelers, Dionisio admitted that he probably won't focus on helping Joseph find a prep school until after the end of the 2002-2003 season.
Rivalshoops.com reported last spring that Joseph would be headed to prep school in 2003-2004, and you can count on us to keep you abreast on Joseph's play and situation in the weeks and monts to come, so stay tuned!
