Jordan Farmar Signs With UCLA

It has been quite a day for UCLA recruit Jordan Farmar. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound point guard from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, CA., signed his Letter of Intent in front of family, friends and members of the media. Now that Farmar is an official member of Ben Howlands first recruiting class, the highly talented point guard will spend the evening at Pauley Pavilion Pauley watching his future teammates in an exhibition game.
“Yes, I did fax the UCLA coaching staff my Letter of Intent today,” Farmar said. “I am definitely excited about the opportunity to play for Coach Howland and the UCLA Bruins. The signing took place inside my high school gymnasium. My family and friends attended and so did some local and national media outlets. I believe FoxSports covered the event live.”

Farmar is ready to begin his career at UCLA, but before that happens, there is some unfinished business he hopes to take care of.
“A school from the Valley hasn’t won a high school championship since the 1960’s, or something like that,” Farmar said. “That’s what I’ve been told. It would be great if I could lead my team to a championship this year. We made it to the Final 4 last year, but got beat my Westchester.
“As far as my individual performance goes, I don’t really worry about those types of things,” he added. “I just want to end my high school career on a good note, so winning a championship would be the best way to finish out my career.”
Rivals.com ranks Farmar No. 24 on the Rivals150 list and the 5th best point guard in the class of 2004.
