WHAT'S NEXT?: Since he will likely be sitting out the early
signing period, Jones can now sit back and watch the programs recruiting him to
make sure that he's a fit. He told Rivals.com that he will be watching closely
to see if what coaches have told him matches up with what he has seen on the
floor. Jones also said he will investigate taking a visit to Kansas and what to
do with his other remaining visits.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: Jones talked to Rivals.com about the recent
interest from Kansas and what he's learned and looked for on his early visits.
"I talked to coach (Bill) Self and he kind of explained to me how I would fit
and that he didn't recruit me as they should have and that they should have
jumped on me earlier. Once they realized that I was signing late that's when
they really decided to push it."
"(Self) talked about Wayne Selden possibly leaving and that I could have
a chance to play. My dad checked out their roster and told me to watch their
games and see where I fit."
"Going on visits I really try and get a good relationship with the players and
the coaches. I see where my fit is and where I gel with the environment. That's
how I go. I ask questions to players like, 'How is coach (Rick) Pitino really?'
or, 'How is coach Shaka (Smart) really?'" I'm just trying to do my research."
