Jones seeing schools

Two weeks ago, Jarvis Jones of Mitchell High School in Memphis, Tenn., had it rolling. The 6-foot-1, 160-pound shooting guard put in a career high 51 points in a highly competitive overtime win and the only way to stop him was to put him on the bench with an elbow to the eye.
"I guess I was just feeling it," Jones said of his big scoring night where he buried six three-pointers en route to his half century mark.

He sure was. The three-star junior has been feeling all season as Mitchell High School is in year one of post-Thaddeus Young. Jones is leading the team in scoring this season.
Jones said an elbow to the eye in overtime took him out of the game for a blink but he added he jumped right back into the action. Jones said he has made it a point to show that his game isn't one-dimensional and not confined to life beyond the arc.
"That's why I'm looking forward to the AAU season," he said. "I want to show that I can do more than that."
No stranger to the recruiting process, Jones has logged some serious miles this year to see some of his suitors in action. He traveled to Atlanta to see the Georgia Tech-Connecticut match-up at the Georgia Dome. The visit to see Georgia Tech is his second of the year.
He has also been to Valpo and he'll return to see Homer Drew's club in two weeks. Jones said he will also be at the Ole Miss-LSU on Wednesday. He is also a regular at the Memphis games. Jones said the trips are important in picking a school.
"I want to see the style of play the teams run and see if I can fit into it," Jones said. "That will play a large part in my decision. Seeing them play is the best way to do that."
Jones said he is holding offers from Colorado, Missouri, Morehead State, Ole Miss, Southeast Missouri and Valparaiso. Arkansas, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois and Tennessee are also looking, Jones said.
