Jones expanding game

Known as a scorer, three-star prospect Lamont Jones is expanding his game as a primary ball handler at Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy. And this weekend the 6-foot, 196-pound combo guard will officially visit an ACC school.
He might not be Brandon Jennings, but Jones has been flourishing at the point guard position at Oak Hill Academy for Coach Steve Smith. Prior to this year, Jones played the off guard position alongside Tyreke Evans at American Christian.

"I know he had the reputation of just being a scorer, but Lamont has done a great job as a point guard for us," said Smith. "He just needs a coach to demand that he make good decisions. He is going to be a high major point guard and if he waits till the spring, he will be very highly recruited."
Jones is presently getting a healthy share of recruiting attention. Last weekend he unofficially visited Charlotte. This weekend he will officially visit Virginia Tech.
Coach Smith also noted that Cincinnati is heavily involved, and that Arkansas was impressed with what they saw at a recent practice. Jones is also being recruited by USC.
