Jon Iati Is Pennsylvania Star

Jon Iati, a 5-9 junior point guard from York Catholic High School in York, PA, first hit the national eye when Sports Illustrated featured him in the "Faces in the Crowd" section of its May 28, 2001, issue. Iati had drilled the nets for over 30 points four times, with a high of 56 points, in the postseason St. Rose Invitational and Lancaster/Millersville Tournament.
Iati continued to impress over this summer. At the Lehigh Valley Hoop Fest, he averaged 38 points per game as York defeated the New York Guachos, New York Warriors and Mountain B-Ball in wining three of the five games played at that event.

Iati followed that up at the A.F.B.E. Tournament in Reading, PA, where he averaged 41 points and six assists per game as his Tazmanians team won all five games played over the two-day meet in July.
Joe Keesey, assistant coach at York Catholic, said that over 145 schools have contacted Iati. Sweeney said Jon had also been approached by one of the state's top teams, Germatown Academy in the Philadelphia area, about joining that program.
