Johnson Still Has Work To Do

Darren Johnson, a hard-working 6'7'' 230 pound big forward from Lincoln High School in Yonkers, New York. But some mid-majors are taking a "wait and see" approach now.
Johnson, whom Rider and Buffalo had expressed interest in, as well as some other MAAC and America East schools, still has some work to do academically. He has not yet achieved a qualifying SAT score, and still needs to shore up his core requirements.

In light of Darren's academic situation, junior college could be an option.
Johnson is a big man with a good motor who plays with a lot of intensity. He is not a household name on the New York City hoops circuit, nor does he play for a perennial powerhouse in Lincoln in Westchester County, an area traditionally dominated by schools like Mount Vernon and White Plains. For these reasons Darren might not have gotten as much exposure as he might have otherwise.
Johnson played this summer with The CAS Warriors.
