Johnson Schedules Visit

The No. 45 ranked player in the class of 2005 Austin Johnson continued his strong play over the summer all the way through his last event in Kansas City. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas, has a visit scheduled with Oklahoma, which is one of his top four schools.
“I have an official visit scheduled for Oklahoma on September 11,” said Johnson. “I will also probably visit Texas Tech and USC.”

Texas A&M is the fourth school on Johnson’s list, with Arizona as a fifth school.
“I am still considering Arizona, but they haven’t offered,” he said. “They are talking to some other players and are trying to decide what to do with their scholarships.”
Although Johnson insisted that he does not have a favorite, he did talk about all the attention he is receiving from Oklahoma.
“Oklahoma has really shown me a lot of attention,” he said. “They are also coming to my house September 8 before I go on my official visit. [Texas] A&M is also coming in for an in-home visit, but we have not scheduled a date.”
Along with looking forward to his upcoming visits, Johnson is very excited about the prospects for his Palo Duro High School team.
“We should be good,” he said. “We have a very good chance to win the state. We went 35-2 last year, and everyone that started in the playoffs is coming back. We made it to the final eight last year.”
