Johnson Adjusting at IMG Academy

The recruiting process has momentarily slowed down for power forward Jerome Johnson out of Baltimore, Maryland as he adjusts to life at the IMG Basketball Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Formally from the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, the 6-foot-8, 220-pound Johnson arrived at IMG September 2nd.

“Right now Jerome is making adjustments to being at IMG,” explained Johnson’s father, Kermit Carter. “They keep him pretty busy. Once he figures out his schedule and when he has free time, we will sit down and look at his options and start setting up visits.”
Johnson has quite a few options to mull over. Carter listed these schools as having offered a scholarship to Johnson: St. John’s, Northeastern, Clemson, Depaul, Richmond, Providence, East Carolina, Rhode Island, North Carolina Charlotte, Kent State, Rutgers, and George Mason.
Johnson listed five schools that he likes, but that list is likely to change.
I like Connecticut, St. John’s, Northeastern, Clemson, and Syracuse,” Johnson said. “But I want to wait for all my options. I may not sign until the spring.”
One thing Johnson is waiting on is a decision by Cecil-Kirk teammate and friend Rudy Gay. Gay, the No.10 player in the Rivals150, is considering both Connecticut and Syracuse.
“It is a deal with Connecticut and Syracuse where we have to wait and see what Rudy does,” Carter said. “It is a situation where he is number one with them and Jerome may be their second or third.”
Johnson, a very good low post defender and rebounder, is working on expanding his offensive game at the IMG Basketball Academy.
“He has a nice shot out to fifteen feet,” commented Carter. “Now he is working on putting the ball on the floor.”
