John Zito Hoping For More Looks

John Zito, a 6-5, 195 pound small forward from the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., is hoping to land a scholarship to a college this spring.
The Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com has had many opportunities to watch Zito with Wayne Simone's Connecticut Select program in the past few years. He has always impressed us with his hard-nosed play and aggressive work on the glass.

STM Head Coach Jere Quinn said that Zito has been one of his more reliable shooters this winter, although he did not score in Monday's 50-48 loss to the Columbia University J.V. squad on Monday afternoon.
Thus far, New Hampshire and Division II Stone Hill College of Massachusetts have expressed the most interest in Zito, Quinn said.
This upcoming weekend will be a critical one for Zito and his Chancellor teammates, as St. Thomas More is hosting the Pride's Corner Tournament. Many Division I coaches will come through on Friday and Saturday to catch the Chancellors, Bridgton Academy of Maine, Worcester Academy of Massachusetts and Maine Central Institute.
The action begins on Friday night with games at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., and concludes Saturday afternoon with a consolation game at 3:00 p.m. and the championship game at 5 p.m.
Rivalshoops.com will be on hand Friday evening, and we'll let you know how Zito and his teammates fare against some of the best prep schools in New England.
