Jimmy Miles Praises Valpo

Jimmy Miles, a crafty 6-1, 185-pound left-handed shooting guard from Homewood Christian in Illinois, told RivalsHoops that he is excited about his verbal commitment to Valparaiso.
"I'm committed to Valparaiso," said Miles. "It's close to home, and a small school I know when I go there that I'll get a lot of playing time. If I went to a bigger school I'd have to play behind the other guards."

Miles, who verbally committed to Valparaiso in March after taking an unofficial visit, also pondered offers from USC, Northwestern, and Loyola of Chicago. Illinois and Marquette had also expressed interest. "I like the coaches alot at Valparaiso," Miles said. "I feel very comfortable. I think they always have a chance to go far in the NCAA tournament. They have a great winning tradition."
Miles is a crafty lefthander who is quick and elusive off the dribble. He knocked down the three with regularity at the Three Stripes Tournament. Members of Valparaiso's staff watched attentively. Miles did not disappoint. He can stroke the jumper and also run the show from the lead guard slot.
Jimmy will compete in the Las Vegas Big Time Tournament with the Illinois Heat. He will also attend the sanctioned "Flash" Clinic, a one-day workout in Bloomington, Illinois, on July 28th.
Miles averaged 25 points and six assists this past high school season. Jimmy carries a 3.0 GPA.
