Jennings entertains new suitor

Four-star prospect Milton Jennings is on the verge of announcing his college decision, but that didn't stop new South Carolina coach Darrin Horn from visiting the 6-foot-9, 200-pound power forward from Summerville (S.C.) Pinewood Prep in hopes of gaining a foothold in his recruitment.
"It was a pretty good visit," said Jennings. "I like him and he's a good guy as are all the coaches I've met. Most of them share the same personality traits.

"With me being a good in-state player, as the new coach he wanted me to know that I'm an important recruit to him and how badly he wants to have me."
It might be a little too late, however, for South Carolina to make inroads with Jennings. He has developed a strong bond with Clemson and will soon announce his intentions.
"I pretty much have my mind made up, but I'm still thinking about some stuff," he said. "My plan is to make an announcement in about a week. It's down to Clemson, Florida, UCLA and Georgetown."
Jennings did, however, leave room for hope for the new South Carolina staff.
"Even though I'm pretty much ready to make a decision, I'm not married to anyone until signing day," said Jennings.
Jennings is the No. 58 ranked prospect in the class of 2009.
