Jefferson and Others Schedule Press Conferences

Al Jefferson, the No. 4 player in the Rivals150, will hold a press conference on Monday, May 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Prentiss (Miss.) High School to announce whether he will attend Arkansas or enter his name into the NBA draft.

Jefferson, 6-foot-9, 260-pounds, was a McDonald’s, Parade Magazine, and USA Today All-American. He participated in the McDonald’s All Star game, the Capitol Classic, and the USA Hoop Summit game. In all three games he raised his draft stock after averaging 42 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 blocks per game as a high school senior.

Dwight Howard, Josh Smith, and Dorrell Wright have already announced their intentions of entering the NBA draft. J.R. Smith is holding a press conference on Monday as well, and an official announcement from Sebastian Telfair is coming May 5th. All three of these players are expected to opt for the draft.

Shaun Livingston and Robert Swift have yet to make an announcement or set a date for an announcement concerning their intent.
