Jaspers Land Big Time Late Addition

Manhattan rode a wave of success deep into the month of March during the NCAA tournament because they recruited well and landed top notch players. That wave is still rolling on the recruiting front as well for Jaspers head coach Bobby Gonzalez. Class of 2004 prospect C.J. Anderson picked the Metro Atlantic program, according sources close to the situation.
Anderson, 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, was a hot prospect since the 5/8 rule was lifted and even hotter since he received his qualifying score on the SAT. Virginia Tech was long considered the leader for the Cleveland, Ohio native and Georgetown and Ole Miss came on strong in the last couple of weeks, but in the end, Manhattan won the sweepstakes.

The Jaspers landed a high-riser with the ability to run the point guard spot. While prepping at Laurinburg (N.C.), Anderson improved his jump shot, allowing him to spread the offense with him on the wing. He’s an above average passer that isn’t afraid to take a risk on the offensive side of the ball. He’ll play pesky defense and loves to get on the floor for a loose ball. Expect Anderson to battle for all-conference honors right away.
Before heading to the fifth-year school, Anderson was riding the success of a strong summer play with Michael Duncan’s Cleveland Basketball Club. He also played well at the ABCD camp.
