Jasper set to begin visits

The No. 35 ranked player in the Rivals150 Derrick Jasper is coming off an impressive summer where he once again led the EBO AAU program to another adidas Super 64 championship. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound combo guard from Paso Robles (Calif.) High School is down to five schools and has visits scheduled with four of them.

"I'm down to Kentucky, Memphis, Washington, Illinois and Connecticut," said Jasper. "Right now they are all even."

Based on Jasper's visitation schedule, however, it looks like Connecticut might be trailing the other four schools. Jasper visits Kentucky this weekend and then Washington and Illinois on the following two weekends. Memphis gets a visit for Midnight Madness. As for Connecticut, Jasper is not sure yet whether he will visit the Huskies.

Jasper, who plans to sign in November, noted two aspects he is looking for on his official visits.

"I'm looking for good coaching and a good connection with the players," he said.

As a junior, Jasper averaged 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists per game.
