Jason McKinney Has Short List of Schools

Jason McKinney, a 5-11, 170 pound senior point guard from Inglewood H.S. in Inglewood, Calif., helped his team take home a fifth place finish at the recent Slam Dunk to the Beach Tournament.
McKinney is just happy to be back out on the basketball court this season after missing the entire 2000-2001 season due to a broken leg.

His presence has been important for the Sentinels, as he is averaging 15 points, 10 assists and three steals per game. He basically makes their attack go.
McKinney told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that George Washington and Southern Cal are his current leaders, and said he is also considering UMass, Iowa State, Miami, Villanova, San Diego State and Texas El Paso.
A vocal leader on the basketball court, McKinney can play both up-tempo and halfcourt, but his speed makes him very dangerous in open court situations. He will knock down open shots, though he tends to shoot his three ball on a line drive.
McKinney is particularly effective slashing the baseline and setting up his teammates off penetration.
In addition to his injury last year, McKinney was not as visible as other Class of 2002 members last summer. He played with a program called Top Prospects out of California, but that club did not attend many high profile sneaker sponsored events.
McKinney said he has a 2.9 GPA but said he will take the SAT for the first time on Jan. 26.
With continued fine play this winter, McKinney could see his recruitment heat up further. IR will keep you posted.
