It’s been a pretty successful week for the Missouri Tigers. They’ve received commitments from Marshall Brown and Glen Dandridge, but the good news might not end there. Jason Horton, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard from Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, TX., is about ready to end his recruitment, which might be good news for Missouri fans. Horton and Brown have openly talked about playing at Missouri together, so it should come as no surprise that Horton is about ready to end his recruitment. Brown gave a commitment to the Missouri staff a few days ago, which will only make Horton’s decision that much easier.
“Yea, there is a chance that I could end my recruitment within the next week or two,” Horton said. “Missouri is still the leader and they will be tough to beat. I’ve talked with the coaching staff at Missouri and I feel comfortable about the future.
“My parents have also talked with the staff and they feel the same way,” he added. “There has been a lot of talk about the basketball program lately, but I’m not really worried about that.”
Several weeks ago, Horton had talked about taking official visits to each of the four schools remaining on his list. He’s taken unofficial visits to Missouri, Arkansas and Arizona State, so Kansas is the only school he hasn’t visited.
As of right now, it doesn’t look like any of those visits will take place.
“Arkansas, Arizona State and Kansas are still on my list of schools, but I don’t have any plans to officially visit any of those schools,” he said.
Rivals.com ranks Horton No. 48 on the Rivals150 list and the ninth best point guard in the class of 2004.
