Jason Horton, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard from Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, TX., has given a verbal commitment to the Missouri Tigers, which should come as no surprise. Horton hinted last week that a decision was nearing, but wasn’t certain when he would make the announcement.

“Yes, Jason has given a verbal commitment to Missouri,” Cedar Hill High School Head Coach David Milson said. “He made this decision based on several factors, but none bigger than Coach Snyder. The campus life was also a big factor in his decision. Jason really liked everything about the campus.
“Jason will sign his Letter of Intent during the early signing period,” he added. “I think there were some concerns about Missouri and the allegations in the beginning, but Jason is more than comfortable with the situation. He told me he knew Missouri was the place for him because of Coach Snyder.”
Its likely Horton would have pulled the trigger a lot earlier, but he wanted to make sure the situation at MU would be ok. Daniel Horton, Jason’s older brother, faced a similar situation at Michigan, so he knows all about paying for mistakes that weren’t his.
“I really believe Jason wanted to commit two or three days ago, but he also wanted to make sure he was absolutely sure about his choice,” he added. “He is definitely excited to be a Missouri Tiger.”
Rivals.com ranks Horton No. 48 on the Rivals150 list and the ninth best point guard in the class of 2004.
