Jason Fraser, a 6-10, 215 pound center from Amityville H.S. in Amityville, N.Y., told us he does not know of any NBA scout that has approached his coach or anyone he knows about jumping from high school to the NBA.
However, Fraser would not rule out jumping to the League if an offer came along. "I would consider it if it came along to me," Fraser said. "But right now it is not a major part of my life or anything I am doing now."

Fraser certainly would have to continue to improve his low post moves and perimeter game to be an effective NBA player. Fraser also would need to add some thump to his frame, meaning some pounds and muscle to handle the rigors even of the Big East conference.
But it's not like NBA scouts have not seen Fraser play. There were 14 scouts watching Fraser battle LeBron James' team, a game in which Jason was instrumental in helping Amityville upend St. Vincent/St. Mary's. Then there will be the McDonald's game -- a showcase for all high school seniors thinking about jumping.
But high school seniors must also remember that the crop from high school last year have not done well. So the appetite for high schoolers could be less this draft than it was last June.
Fraser chose Villanova over St. John's, Louisville, and North Carolina in the Fall.
