Power forward Isiah Jasey of Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, emerged as a legitimate high-major prospect earlier this year. Since then, Baylor, Texas A&M, Houston, Texas, TCU, UTEP, SMU, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have been involved with the 2017 four-star in his recruitment.
IN HIS OWN WORDS: Jasey says Texas A&M and Baylor have been the most actively involved in recruiting him lately.
"A lot of my friends go to Texas A&M and they have a really cool coaching staff. I'm good friends with (Texas A&M freshmen) Admon Gilder and Elijah Thomas. The coaches tell me they really want me and really hope I go there. They are trying to get me on board."
Loyalty is a big part of Jasey's interest in Scott Drew's program.
"I like Baylor. The coaches are really cool. Out of all the schools that have offered me, they were the first ones, so I really like that. They have stayed with me."
Jasey recently took visits to both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
"They were really cool. The games were cool. The coaches at both schools were very nice. I like (assistant) coach (Lew) Hill from Oklahoma. He's really cool."
WHAT'S NEXT?: Jasey's plan for now is to focus on having a great junior season at Sunrise Christian as they play a national schedule against some of the top high school programs in the country. Once the season is over, he'll begin to look at schools more closely and take visits. Look for a decision from him at some point during his senior year.
RIVALS REACTION: Jasey was born in Canada, but grew up living in Texas most of his life. Looking at the schools recruiting him, it looks as if he'll go back to Texas to play college basketball or possibly one of the Oklahoma schools. The four-star prospect says he's open to all schools at the moment.
