James picks up FIU offer

RANKINGS: Class of 2014 - 2015 - 2016
Justin James had been home less than 24 hours after playing with his Team Breakdown teammates in the Pitt Jam Fest when the Port St Lucie (Fla.) junior guard picked up an offer from Florida International.

"Florida International offered Monday afternoon," John James, Justin's father, said. "Wyoming has been down to see him a few times; he has a good relationship with several coaches at Wyoming and with Florida Atlantic. We've also had contact with Arkansas and Maryland."
Known as a gym rat, Justin James viewed his first offer as validation for the time he's put in the gym.
"It felt good," James said. "Felt good to know that hard work is finally paying off."
The FIU staff let the James know that he was the type of player they were looking for in their backcourt in the 2015 class.
"Coach [Stephen] Ott likes that I'm a big guard who can put it on the floor and shoot it," James said.
The 6-foot-7 James plays point guard for his Centennial HIgh team and is used off the ball for his Team Breakdown travel team. In his junior season at Centennial, James averaged 21 points, nine rebounds and four assists per game.
Although his recruitment is just starting to take off, James knows what he'll be looking for in a program when the time comes to make his college decision.
"The style of game they play, and that the coach not just teaches me but also tries to develop my game year by year."
