James Madison Lands Shooting Guard

Chris Matthews, a 6-foot-3, 195 pound shooting guard from National Christian Academy (MD) has made his college decision. He’ll suit up for James Madison Dukes in 2004-05.
Matthews took an unofficial visit to the Colonial Conference school three weeks ago and liked enough of what he saw to make a pledge.

“I liked the coaching staff and felt pretty good around the players. Everything I saw, I liked. It was a pretty simple decision,” Matthews said.
A solid shooter, Matthews is eager to get on campus for his official trip on October 3rd in order to get a better feel of his future teammates. He said he’d do whatever it takes.
“Anything you need me to do, I’ll do it. If you want me to be the shooter, I’ll be the shooter,” Matthews said. “I can’t wait to go on my official visit next week and get out on the floor and play with the players.”
“I think he’s going to be pretty good for them,” NCA coach Trevor Brown said. “That league is ran by shooting guards so he’ll do real well.”
Matthews averaged 12 points and three rebounds as a junior at National Christian.
