James Cripe: Has Upside

James Cripe, a 6-10, 225-pound center/forward from Loveland High School in Loveland, Ohio, made a commitment today to Dayton.
"It was my number one choice for a long time," Cripe said. "I also considered Ball State, Indiana State, Wright State, Ohio, and Xavier. But Dayton showed me they wanted me the most."

Cripe, who has played only two years of organized basketball, has much to learn about the game and appears willing to listen. "I really like the coaches at Dayton," said Cripe. "If the coaches want me to redshirt I will do so. It can only help. Why waste a year when you can have four goody years?"
The upside is there for Cripe. This attracted an offer from Dayton. "I am going to work on my strength and my moves this year," Cripe said. "I am also going to work on my rebounding. I am really excited to be going to Dayton."
Cripe told us he has a 3.2 GPA and scored a 28 on the PACT. He plans on taking the test and SAT in October.
