Jamarcus Ellis Signs With Texas AM

Jamarcus Ellis, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound shooting guard from Westinghouse High School in Chicago, Ill, has signed a letter of intent to play at Texas A&M. Ellis knew that A&M was a perfect fit after officially visiting the campus. The fact that Texas A&M plays in the Big 12 also played a role in his decision.
“Yes, Jamarcus has signed with Texas A&M,” Westinghouse High School Head Coach Quitman Dillard said. “He made the decision a couple of days ago. I cannot remember when he officially visited the school, but I know that he really loved everything about the visit. Jamarcus had the opportunity to spend time with the coaches and players, which was very important.

“I think the biggest reason he committed to Texas A&M was because of the environment and how comfortable he felt,” he added. “Jamarcus felt extremely comfortable during his visit and was treated like a member of the team. It was just a perfect fit for Jamarcus.”
Coach Dillard indicated that Texas A&M plans to use Ellis at the shooting guard and small forward positions.
Rivals.com ranks Ellis No. 144 on the Rivals150 list and the 32nd best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
